CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The long-awaited Buc Days Stripes Carnival kicks off at 5 p.m. on Thursday!
Buccaneer commissioners Mark Avelar and Fred Dotts spoke with 3NEWS on Thursday morning about what's coming up, and to remind people to head over early and take advantage of the Dollar Night admission fee.
Dotts has been a part of the Buccaneer Commission since the 1980s and said the carnival has grown immensely since he's become a part of the popular Corpus Christi tradition.
Those who make it out to the Stripes Carnival can expect over 50 different rides, games and everything from funnel cakes to turkey legs!
The newest and biggest attraction at the carnival is The Kraken. It's an 80-ft. tall carnival ride that swings like pendulum and is sure to be a hit with anyone looking for an adrenaline rush!
