CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Carlos Cavazos and Eric Shandy of the Corpus Christi Rimz joined us on Domingo Live to invite the community to show out for their team in the 6th Annual Bayfront Classic Wheelchair Basketball Tournament.
The Corpus Christi Rimz are a wheelchair basketball team that advocates for health, fitness and awareness of adaptive sports throughout the Coastal Bend community. Their goal is to empower differently-abled people of all ages with the knowledge that there is no limitation that can't be conquered with determination.
Several wheelchair basketball teams from around the country are expected to compete in the Bayfront Classic Tournament against the CC Rimz: the Austin Rec'ers, Houston Rollin' Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Weatherford Outlaws, Arkansas Razorbacks, Las Vegas Silver Bandits and defending champions the Tuscon Lobos.
The tourney will take place at TAMU-CC's Island Hall Gym on Dec. 9 and 10. Tip-off is at 9 a.m. on the first day of the tournament and at 2 p.m. on the second day. Admission is free to the public and open to people of all ages.
More information about the tournament and the Corpus Christi Rimz can be found on the tournament's Facebook event page and on the team's official Facebook group.
