C.C. Museum of Science & History sees boost in crowds over Spring Break

Visitors attracted by the local focus of the museum’s exhibits.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Spring Break is usually about fun in the sun, but the holiday has brought an influx of visitors to many other attractions across the Coastal Bend beyond the beach -- including the Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History.

The museum has seen over 2,000 visitors alone since March 8, a number that museum officials expect to only grow larger as we head into the weekend.

Media Manager, Paulina Manseau says that visitors seem to be drawn to a variety of exhibits throughout the museum, but especially ones focused right here in our region.

"Typically, people are really taken with the history of Corpus Christi, because that's our main focus,” Manseau said. “We have a lot of unique things, such as the Spanish wreckage. We're the only museum in South Texas that has anything like that.

“But we also emphasize science,"

There is a full schedule of events happening at the museum all week long.

Visitor, Monica Feeley tells 3-NEWS that's exactly why she and her kids came out today.

"They have so many activities,” Feeley said. “They have stuff especially for young kids, they have a nice playground outside, and different exhibits they have changed throughout the year."

Manseau says a ton of interactive activities are planned throughout the weekend, so what better way to celebrate Spring Break than by learning a little something along the way.
