CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Taft High School will be holding a fall college and career showcase for students and parents to connect with colleges and universities.
The event, which is being held at the high school's cafeteria, will take place 4-6 p.m. Monday. The informational gathering is a partnership between Education to Employment Partners and the school, and expects big-name presence, such as representatives from Cheniere -- for those interested in trade careers -- and the University of Texas.
In this week's Direction to Success, post-secondary career advisor Dezerae Martinez-Cantu and college and career advisor Janie Martinez joined 3NEWS' First Edition to talk about why events like this are important for students, who she said are all exploring the trades, college and military careers.
