CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Many in the Coastal Bend showed up for a double dose of wellness and vibrant culture today!
The 14th annual Festival of India and Community Health Fair kicked off at the Sri Venkateswara Temple.
The free event featured health screenings and services on the house -- as well as an incredible showcase of Indian culture, with vendors, traditional music and dancing.
It was all part of giving back to the community that organizers say have welcomed them with open arms.
"It's like South Texas culture you know we all grow together as family and all of us here it's like one big family doing things together and enjoying things together," said Dr. Rashmi Kulkarni. "We want to share our culture with South Texas and we want you all to be a part of this too."
Of course, part of that culture is the food that was enjoyed by many today.
She said she feels blessed to share with her neighbors, because it's just so tasty.
