CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The man accused of killing a 17-year-old man on Grizzley Drive three years ago was in court Thursday requesting his plea date be moved.
Eddie Quesada was arrested in the shooting death of Michael Joseph Quintero in 2020. Corpus Christi Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 7900 block of the South Side street near Cimarron at around 7 p.m. Nov. 27, saying they found two people had suffered gunshot wounds.
Both were taken to a local hospital, where Quintero died of his wounds.
105th District Court Judge Jack Pulcher granted Quesada’s request Thursday, allowing it because he said Quesada has shown up for every one of his hearings.
"Your client has shown up every time, so I'm ok with it,” he said. “Just go ahead and pencil him in -- pencil them in for that day."
Quesada is due back in court Nov. 27 -- the day after Thanksgiving – and the 3-year anniversary of Quintero’s death.
