CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Woodsboro ISD dismissed students around noon Tuesday after the city said it would need to shut off water to the whole town.
A Facebook post from the district said that students will be released at noon, and that buses will begin running at 12:05 p.m.
However, the post added that students will be able to eat lunch.
High school students were allowed to leave campus for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and did not have to go back to school.
The water-shut off turned out to not be necessary, but city officials tell 3NEWS the school is going ahead with the early dismissal since parents already have been notified.
The water problems were the result of a major water leak being repaired on Locke Street.
The leak was reported at around 11 a.m., and city secretary Ruby De La Garza said there currently is no estimated restoration time.
There is no word on what caused the leak, but De La Garza said no water boil notice has been issued and that water pressure in the city is still good as of 11:30 a.m.
This is a developing story. 3NEWS will have updates as they become available.
