CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Jazz Festival is back and ready for another music-filled run in Corpus Christi.
What started as an idea from the Del Mar College Jazz Club in 1959, has now grown to be the largest free running festival in the world.
The event kicks off this Friday, Oct. 18 and runs through Saturday Oct. 20. at Heritage Park. Festival goers can expect three days of jazz music from individual musicians and bands from all around the state.
The festival will also feature Corpus Christi high school and college bands. Festival-goers will hear performance from Roy Miller High School, Richard King High School, All City High School, and Alice High School. The Del Mar College and TAMUK Jazz band will also be performing.
Texas Jazz Festival Society president Nick Torres, director Robert Martinez and saxophone player Jacob Torres joined First Edition live from Heritage Park with all the details on the 63rd annual festival.
