Police investigate conflicting stories in alleged Thanksgiving night road rage shooting

Police said they were dispatched to a local hospital when a 21-year-old woman walked in with minor injuries to her right arm on Thanksgiving night.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating an alleged road rage incident that one 21-year-old woman said resulted in her being shot at on Thanksgiving night.

Officers are looking into the incident, but said details are unclear due to having received conflicting stories from the woman and the driver of the vehicle.

CCPD said officers were dispatched to a local hospital at about 10:49 p.m. when a woman walked in with minor injuries to her right arm.

Police were told she was sitting in the car's passenger-side seat going eastbound on Hwy. 358 and Airline Road when the car she was in was cut off by a dark SUV. They, in turn, sped up to the SUV to cut it off.

The SUV allegedly then pulled up to the passenger side of the victim's car and fired one shot, which shattered the window, resulting in her injury.

The woman was dropped off at the hospital. Officers then interviewed the car's driver, who said there was no road rage, and that the incident happened several hours earlier.

The vehicle occupants dropped off the car involved in the original incident and took another vehicle to the hospital where the woman was dropped off.
