CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Animal Care Services recently received reports of a fraudulent texting scam, according to their latest social media post.
Individuals pretending to be law enforcement officers are reportedly messaging area residents and falsely claiming to have found their lost pets.
ACS says that those messages are not legitimate and are not associated with their department or CCPD.
They ask that you reach out to Animal Care Services directly at 361-826-4630 to check if your lost pet is at their shelter.
The post was re-shared by Corpus Christi police to the department's Facebook page.
