ARANSAS PASS, Texas — The city of Aransas Pass got into the holiday spirit Saturday with their first ever Christmas in Aransas Pass event.
The venue was flooded with families ready to enjoy live music, food trucks and an appearance from the man in red himself.
Santa Claus made himself available for photos and stuck around to enjoy the festivities and holiday cheer, which included the opportunity to engage in some holiday shopping with local vendors just in time for Small Business Saturday.
Event organizers said they hoped the event would give people the opportunity to knock out some holiday shopping and give residents and visitors alike a chance to experience what the city has to offer.
"We're trying to make this town something that you don't pass through and an actual destination. That's the role of this, is to bring in more business, support small business," said Cindy Oakerson, event organizer and founder of Clean Green Aransas Pass.
CGAP hosted Saturday's event. You can click the above link to find their Facebook group, and even volunteer with the organization.
