CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Andrew Lee Garza Jr., a 15-year-old Ray High School student who was shot and killed in February, was remembered Sunday as kids prepared to go back to school.
Local barbers and beauticians gathered at "Beauty Crush" on Weber to offer free haircuts, school supplies, and manicures to ensure every child is ready for the new school year and to help keep Andrew's legacy alive.
He is remembered for his many passions in life and was driven to be a barber in the future.
Andrew's father is thankful for all the support that has come through and helped them to give back to the community.
"He wanted the younger generation here to show their skills, what they are working hard to do and what they are putting their mind into, everything they have into their craft," Garza said.
