CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Brooks County Pct. 3 Commissioners Court candidate Armando Olivarez and another man were stung by a swarm of bees at a polling location there Tuesday.
The men reportedly were stung numerous times at the voting site in Falfurrias.
A city employee arrived and began removing the bees after the incident, which happened at around 11 a.m. at the corner of St. Mary's and Texas Avenue.
3NEWS was told a nearby worker accidently stirred up the bees.
EMS arrived at the scene and treated both men, according to witnesses.
The election site was kept open and both men were treated and released from the hospital.
