CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Buc Days Barbeque on the Bay competition took place on the Seawall outside the American Bank Center.
The smokin' tradition allows local pit masters to battle it out as they raise money for the Buccaneer Scholarship Fund.
Dozens of folks, from around the Bend and beyond showed up to try some mouth-watering specialties like brisket, ribs and chicken.
Dylan Bukner, who is competing expressed gratitude of just being part of the competition.
"It's great, all of us are from around here and we love Buc Days. Everybody remembers going to Buc Days as kids and it's even funner as an adult."
Whether you're in it for the glory or the grub, there's something for everyone to get a taste of the best BBQ in town.
Later on Saturday night -- they will be announcing the top prize going to the team that raises the most funds.
