CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi ISD has named a new principal in a former CCISD student.
Stevie Rae Garcia will be the principal at the newest middle school in the district.
The campus is currently under construction near Creekside Elementary.
Right now, Garcia is the principal over Kostoryz Elementary.
The district released a statement Friday saying, "Mrs. Garcia is an excellent example of the leadership pipeline we have developed and continue to hone in CCISD."
The new campus is slated to open next August, you may remember, the district took to the community for name suggestions. This is something that will be brought back up at a future board meeting, so stay tuned.
