CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Some residents had the opportunity to chat with Corpus Christi police officers over a "cup of Joe" at CCPD's Coffee with a Cop event at the Starbucks on Leopard Street Tuesday morning.
Some officers helped take orders while others spoke with residents about everything from crimes to neighborhood nuisances.
Assistant Chief David Blackmon told 3NEWS the event gives the community a chance to meet police in a comfortable setting.
"This gives us an opportunity to get out of the cars, talk to people and let them know that hey we're real people," Blackmon said. "It gives them the opportunity to express any issues they may be having and give us information, and if not to say hello."
If you didn't have a chance to make it over this morning, be on the lookout for future community events.
