CCPD warns of latest 'warrant' phone scam

The department says that a phone scammer is calling up victims and leading them to believe they have active warrants that need to be resolved.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department is warning the community about another phone scam going around.

This one involves the scammer calling from the CCPD emergency number -- which is 361-886-2600 -- and saying the victim has active warrants.

CCPD will never contact you by phone regarding warrants.

If you receive this scam call -- the police department urges you to hang up -- and never provide any personal information.
