CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas —
Spring break is here and Corpus Christi police are ready with their operational period beginning Friday and lasting till March 17.
Last year, no major crimes were reported during spring break. CCPD said they want that success to continue this year.
Bravo Captain, Brad Pici said that nearly 140 officers will be working overtime during spring break to ensure the beach is a safe and family-friendly environment.
"Our first order, again, is to make sure that they have a safe and fun time," Pici said.
He said that while officers are not wanting to write citations or make arrests, units will be out in full force.
If you're planning on driving to the beach don't forget to secure your 2024 beach permit!
