CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The community showed up in full force as CCPD traded in their badges for aprons for the annual Tip-a-Cop event at Texas Roadhouse raising money for Special Olympics Texas.
It's the 16th year Corpus Christi police has teamed up with the restaurant to take orders and collect donations for the nonprofit.
3NEWS spoke with one of the athletes benefitting from the event, James, who has the hardware to show for it!
"I have medals for Special Olympics for basketball, swimming, golf," he said.
James' sport of choice right now is bowling. He's bowled three perfect games over at Bowlero!
We asked what else he liked to do and his answer did not disappoint!
"Watch TV and watch the news on 3NEWS," he said.
Thank you so much for your support James, we can't wait to see everything you achieve!
