CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni says that due to low development and reappraisals, the city is seeing a shortfall in general fund property tax revenue, meaning that there could be a reduction in some city services.
As Zanoni prepares to present the proposed budget, some may be wondering what the core topics will be.
"No reductions to police or fire," he said. "We're also able through some budget changes, keep our street funding at the current level. So other services that we look to impact are parks and recreation, our library services, some services in our planning and other functions of the city."
Zanoni said the adjustments could save more than $10 million which could ultimately result in a balanced budget.
