CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A major milestone Thursday for the development of the 'Whitecap Preserve Project' on the Island as the City of Corpus Christi celebrated the completion of the water canal.
The finished canals will now allow water to flow from the Gulf of Mexico into the canals for the first time.
The connection of the existing canals has been in the works for nearly 25 years.
