CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Our recent rise in flu cases is putting the Coastal Bend on the map.
The Walgreens Flu Index shows Corpus Christi as fifth in the nation for flu cases.
The Dallas-Fort Worth area is in second.
The state of Texas ranks fourth among the nation in overall flu activity.
Hundreds of flu cases have been reported here in Nueces County-- recent numbers show 690 have been reported.
Overall influenza-like illnesses also way up with over 1,900 cases.
