CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Editor's note: The headline on this story has been corrected to reflect that Quintanilla was a teacher at Hamlin Middle School.
Former Hamlin Middle School teacher Anthony Quintanilla pled guilty Thursday to charges of 11 counts of sexual assault of a child and two counts of having an improper relationship with a student.
Quintanilla was arrested in October 2019.
He was given deferred adjudication, which means that he will be under community supervision for a period of 10 years, will have to pay a $1,500 fine, he is to have no contact with children or the victim in this case.
105th District Court Judge Jack Pulcher made it clear Thursday that if the 52-year-old former social studies teacher doesn’t complete the agreed conditions, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
