CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Del Mar College Continuing Education announced in a press release Friday that it will be offering a new free six-month program designed to increase the amount of EMT's in the Coastal Bend.
Applications are now being accepted for the Emergency Medical Responder and Health Care Program that will start late-February.
A $250,000 grant from Texas Reskilling and Upskilling Through Education (TRUE), and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has covered fees for students. Associate Vice President of Continuing Education, Dr. Leonard Rivera, explained what the grant means for the program.
"This TRUE grant will have a tremendous impact among our healthcare partners as we meet their skilled workforce needs," Rivera said.
