CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Two brothers charged in connection with the shooting death of an elderly woman took a plea deal Wednesday.
Michael and Joshua Deleon were arrested last July after getting into a shootout with Corpus Christi police on Aava Drive on the city's southside. The elderly victim was inside the house at the time of the shooting and was killed in the crossfire.
Both brothers pleaded guilty to first-degree felonies as part of a plea bargain. In exchange, the state agreed to place them on community supervision for 10 years.
Judge Bobby Galvan reminded the brothers that they must comply with the conditions, or they could face far more serious consequences.
"If you do everything you're supposed to it's great, if you don't you can face up to life in prison upon revocation."
during that period the brothers will have to abide by certain conditions including a curfew, attend anger management classes, and community service.
