CCPD Narcotics Division serves warrant at 'El Patron Sweepstakes' Game room

Engaging in criminal activity is a felony and punishable by up to two years in jail with a maximum fine of $10,000.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A major gambling operation was discovered on the city's South side Thursday afternoon.

The Corpus Christi Police Department's Narcotics and Vice Investigation Division served a warrant at the 'El Patron Sweepstakes' game room on SPID.

The game room search was part of a months-long investigation. Detectives found and seized 90 pieces of gambling equipment and over $31,000 in cash. 

Andria Thompson was arrested and charged with various criminal activities including keeping a gambling room in operation.

There were 23 adults inside the game room, and they were all cited for gambling.

As the investigation continues, CCPD is expecting to add charges and make more arrests. 

Engaging in criminal activity is a state jail felony with a maximum fine of $10,000 and punishable by up to two years in jail.
