Celebrating Farley Boat Works history at the Port Aransas Wooden Boat Festival

The three-day festival starts on Oct. 25.

PORT ARANSAS, Texas — The Port Aransas Wooden Boats Festival is returning for it's tenth year! The three-day family friendly event will host multiple events including the popular Family Boat Build.

The event starts on Oct. 25 and ends on the Oct. 27. Participants interested in volunteering or participating in the event can register here.

Groups will have the opportunity to build their boat from scratch with he help of an instructor and then watch it set sail on the last day of the festival. This year family's will build a 14’ skiff.

The festival started in 2014 with the goal of featuring handmade boats, kayaks, and sailboats created by the historic Farley Boat Works.

Farley Boat Works manager, Frank Cabrera joined First Edition Monday morning to walk viewers through the boat making process and the history behind the company that's been around for over 100 years.
