CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A 32-year-old woman will be charged with intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault with a vehicle and driving with an invalid license after causing a fatal crash on Highway 361 Tuesday night, according to Corpus Christi Police Department.
The crash closed roads for around four hours as crews investigated the scene and cleared debris.
Nueces County ESD 2 and other first responders where dispatched to a two vehicle accident on 6905 Highway 361 around 6:10 p.m., according to Chief Weston Beseda.
CCPD officials said when they arrived a 77-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Upon investigation it was discovered that the 32-year-old woman was traveling south on State Hwy. 361 when she passed a car and hit it. After hitting this car the woman crossed over into oncoming northbound traffic hitting the car with the 77-year-old male passenger. The car rolled several times, and ejected the man.
The 32-year-old woman was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Other passengers involved were also transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
CCPD officials say the incident remains under investigation.
