CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An infant was found unresponsive at the Oso Bay Apartments on the 7500 block of McArdle Road on Friday night.
The infant's father, 31-year-old Juan Castro has been charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury and abandoning and endangering a child.
Around 7:45 p.m. Friday, officers were flagged down in reference to the unresponsive infant by a man and a woman near Ennis Joslin and McArdle roads where officers were at the scene of a minor accident.
The infant was taken to a local hospital by CCFD medics where she was pronounced dead. CCPD said that the exact circumstances of the infant's death are unknown at this time.
There was also a 1-year-old child inside of the apartment. According to CCPD, he was checked by medics and did not have any injuries.
Family Violence Investigators were called to the scene to investigate. They charged Castro after questioning.
