CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new educational initiative exclusively designed for Texas Department of Criminal Justice employees is available to those who are looking for new career opportunities. Braden Reed is the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education for the program. She joined us in this week's Direction to Success.
"Any employee of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-- regardless of their location-- qualifies for our in-district tuition rate, which is our lowest rate for college credit," said Reed.
Those employees will have access to all of the Coastal Bend College's benefits, including tutoring, library services and academic support.
Students in this program will also get to pay the lowest rate-- the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's reimbursement rate.
"So, through your employment, you could qualify for a free Associate's Degree."
