CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A gas-line rupture closed Up River Road and McBride Lane on Thursday afternoon.
Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni tells 3NEWS that the natural gas leak happened on private property as Kinder Morgan was performing maintenance on a 16-inch line.
He said two employees suffered minor injuries.
The leak was visible when 3NEWS crews arrived at the scene at around 3:20 p.m.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for homes on Golla Drive, Manchester Avenue, Donna Drive and Vernon Drive on Corpus Christi's Northwest Side, and residents closest to the leak were evacuated.
The leak was nearly fixed at around 6 p.m., Zanoni said.
