CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — On Thursday, Brundrett Middle School 8th grade English teacher, Trevor Green was named one of the finalists for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards.
The award recognizes educators that are going above and beyond by awarding them with $1,000 for themselves and another $1,000 for the school.
Green has taught at the school for six years now and told 3NEWS that the experience is an overwhelming honor.
"It's definitely nice to be rewarded and people see your hard work, but really I'm just one of many here. It's a great honor, but I work with so many wonderful, talented people, I'm lucky to work with such a talented staff. It's because of them that I get to do my job," said Green.
The English teacher promises that the award funds will be used for something fun and entertaining for his classroom.
