CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Hi-Ho Restaurant is back and open for business!
The legendary West Side business – and one of Tejano superstars Selena's favorite spots -- opened back up 11 days after a fire necessitated repairs.
The fire happened Nov. 17, when firefighters found flames between the roof of the restaurant’s ceiling. Since then, customers have been without one of their favorite spots.
Owner Rick Garcia told 3NEWS he was ready to welcome back his loyal customers.
"I was pushing and pushing and pushing,” he said. “I worked and worked and worked until I got it back together. They didn’t think I'd be able to do it so fast and so quick, but like, I say I got a lot of friends, the community, the workers -- they came through and helped and I was able to get this place back to normal.”
The restaurant is closed for the day, but will be back open from 5 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
