Help raise money for student athletes at Islander Athletic Fund's 'Casino Night'

Islander Womens Basketball team athlete Paige Allen joined us on First Edition to talk about the effort to raise money for student athletes.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Department of Athletics is set to host the 2024 Islander Athletic Fund Casino Night on Saturday, Aug. 3. Funds raised from the event will go toward supporting student-athletes through scholarships and other initiatives that enhance the Division I experience.

Islander Womens Basketball athlete Paige Allen joined us on First Edition to talk about the effort to raise money for student athletes. Now a grad student in her last year as a part of the team, she says she is looking forward to participating in an event that will benefit incoming and current student athletes.

"It's very big- it was a very unique experience-- not everyone gets an experience like this. Not having to worry about anything other than school and our sport takes a big weight off of your shoulders. This fund really helps other people to experience that as well."
