CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The giving spirit meets team spirit over at the Island University Friday!
As students put the fun in fundraising for Izzy's Miracle Marathon.
The annual marathon fundraiser featured a night of line dancing lessons, Mario Kart tournaments, petting zoos, and many more places to chip in for the cause.
All proceeds from the event go to Driscoll Children's Hospital each year. Organizers shared with 3NEWS what it means to be advocates for our youngest patients.
"Tonight is important because between communities, together we heal, and that is what Driscoll Children's Hospital stands for. We stand for children who can't speak for themselves. We speak for them and raise money for anything they need during this difficult time," said Director of Finance for the marathon Anais Wiatrek.
Friday night's event raised over $10,000 dollars, which means Izzy's Miracle Marathon has now raised over $45,000 dollars for Driscoll Children's Hospital since their start in 2018.
