CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident last Wednesday as Michael Campbell.
The 49-year-old died as a result of blunt-force trauma from the crash, which police said involved an SUV, in the 4700 block of Weber Road near Lamont Street.
Corpus Christi Police Department officials confirmed to 3NEWS last week that there was one death resulting from the crash.
He died after being taken to a local hospital immediately following the collision, police said.
After investigating the accident, Traffic officers found that Campbell was driving between two lanes while driving north on Weber Road when he hit the SUV, which was turning east into the 4000 block of Lamont Street.
Police said because Campbell's speed was a factor in the crash, the SUV driver -- who stayed at the accident scene -- was not at fault.
