CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — City Councilman Michael Hunter is entering the race for Corpus Christi's mayor.
The announcement was made Wednesday night surrounded by family, friends and supporters.
Hunter will be facing incumbent Mayor Paulette Guajardo.
3NEWS spoke with him about his decision to run.
"I think it's a good opportunity to show what I've learned over the last eight years and a lot of the people here behind me, they've given me a lot of advice and a lot of help and a lot of support," Hunter said.
That race will take place on Election Day November 5.
