CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas β The Miller High School Band and the High Steppers Drill Team represented Corpus Christi and the state of Texas at Monday's National Memorial Day Parade.
Deidra Martinez is a proud mother to one of those marching band students.
She says it was incredible to watch her son participate in the prestigious event after plenty of hard work.
"He enjoyed it. It took time to raise the money, but thanks for our Miller Alumni and community that helped make it possible for these kids to get there."
"Each kid had to pay their own way so that's where some of the fundraisers took place to help with [those] expenses for each kid. As for how I felt it felt-- amazing to see him on TV. That is something these kids will never forget."
