Millions in funding for Brooks, Jim Wells thanks to Congresswoman De La Cruz

De La Cruz says the process for community-funded projects is extensive, but very important to her and her team.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz announced plans of million-dollar funding heading to Brooks and Jim Wells Counties in a press conference Thursday.

De La Cruz said the process for community-funded projects is like this is extensive, but is very important to her and her team.

"There were three projects that we announced, one in the City of Alice and the other in the City of Tecolote, both in Jim Wells, and they had to do with water," she said. "Water storage, making sure that the residents in this area have safe drinking water, and that was something very important to me and my office."

De La Cruz said they had close to 50 projects that were submitted and were only able to choose 15.

The final decision on what actually gets approved is left up to the appropriations committee.
