CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — As Thanksgiving draws closer, several community organizations are looking to share the wealth and are offering free turkeys and meals.
The NAACP Corpus Christi chapter will be passing out free Thanksgiving meals late next week.
The event is free to the public, but a ticket will be required for the Nov. 18 lunch, which begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Oveal Williams Senior Center. One ticket will admit one person, and tickets will be available for pick-up on Monday and Tuesday.
The annual Thanksgiving Community Lunch lets NAACP members, senior citizens, low-income families and anyone who might be in need of a community meal this holiday season have access to one.
The NAACP chapter said that the annual lunch is an opportunity to surround those who need it with the love of the community.
Anyone interested in attending can call (361) 884-8541 to confirm pick-up for their tickets.
