CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A stabbing in a home near the Incarnate Word Academy athletic field caused panic for attendees at the high school's homecoming game, according to a statement from CEO Sammie Grunwald sent to parents Friday night.
She said off-duty police officers working security at game explained that a man was stabbed at a corner house on Melrose Street and Lawnview Street, allegedly his girlfriend's son.
Grunwald said police arrested the suspect and the victim injured was taken to a nearby hospital.
