CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Driscoll Health Plan celebrated the grand opening for a new mobile Community Connection Center on Friday, highlighting the beginning of a unique and continuous service.
The South Texas nonprofit and Esperanza de Tejas have been teaming up to create pop-up clinics where everyday necessities such as diapers, baby wipes and even vaccines are available to underserved communities.
Founder and CEO of Esperanza de Tejas Brianna Davis said they look forward to continuing their services and expanding their partnerships throughout the area.
"We're just very thankful for this partnership," Davis said. "In the time that we've been partnering, we've been able to serve over 1,000 individuals and we look forward to creating and fostering more partnerships and ensuring that we are maintaining the needs of the community."
She said the new mobile Connection Center will serve Nueces County and surrounding counties, reaching all the way down to the Rio Grande Valley and Laredo.
