Corpus Christi's new Spanish Facebook page is helping reach Hispanic residents

This new initiative is helping to increase accessibility for Spanish speakers to make it easier to understand what is going on in the community.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A reminder here, the City of Corpus Christi has launched a Facebook page in español!

Whether it be bond details or mosquito spraying schedules, the city says that this Spanish Facebook page will make everything you need to know easy access.

The city's communication engagement manager Veronica Renauld said that talking to the community and sharing information is important, especially during election season where everyone should feel empowered to make their vote count.

"With the upcoming elections, we do have - it's important information on our ballot. So, we do have sales tax information – sales reauthorization, as well as the bond information. So, those are in English and in Spanish." said Renauld.

This new initiative is helping to increase accessibility for Spanish speakers to make it easier to understand what is going on in the community.
