CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Results are in for the May 4 Nueces County Joint Election, with three new members of the Nueces County Appraisal District board elected.
Typically, county appraisal boards have been appointed positions, but a new law passed in Texas last November as a part of Proposition 2 now provides for three elected positions.
Of the 11 candidates who ran for the three At-Large positions on the Nueces County Appraisal District board, James Magill was elected in Place 1, and John M. Cudd was elected in Place 2. A runoff election will have to be held for the Place 3 election.
Banquete voters approved the Banquete ISD proposition with 66.25% of votes.
In Bishop voters were more split, with Bishop ISD's Proposition A barely passing with 51.03% of votes, while Proposition B failed with 53.59% of voters choosing against.
Calallen ISD's Proposition A was passed with 53.26% of votes.

James Magill - 3,144 votes, 55.40%

Joseph E. Titlebaum - 1,094 votes, 19.41%
John M. Cudd - 2,953 votes, 52.40%
Corbett "Butch" Pool - 1,588 votes, 28.18%

Ed Bennett - 2,563 votes, 46.27%
Glenna Elliff - 945 votes, 17.06%
Shirley "Mayday" Madej - 1,162 votes, 20.98%
Ken L. Baker - 869 votes, 15.69%
Banquete Independ School District Proposition
For - 159 votes, 66.25%
Against - 81 votes, 33.75%
Bishop Consolidated Independent School District Proposition A
For - 323 votes, 51.03%
Against - 310 votes, 48.97%
Bishop Consolidated Independent School District Proposition B
For - 291 votes, 46.41%
Against - 336 votes, 53.59%
Calallen Independent School District Proposition A
For - 506 votes, 53.26%
Against - 444 votes, 46.74%
