CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In the next phase of construction work on the Nueces River Bridge TxDOT will be closing lanes from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
According TxDOT officials they will be removing the final beams on the old southbound side, south of Red Bird Lane in Calallen to the US 77 Interchange.
This is part of the $85 million project that is widening and reconstructing about three miles of Interstate 37. The project will also raise the Nueces River Bridge making it less susceptible to damage in severe weather.
