CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Over 60 nonprofits will benefit from the yearly Coastal Bend Day of Giving fundraiser.
The official "Day of Giving" is on Nov. 12, but if you feel called to donate now, you can! Early giving is open right now until Nov. 11. Just click here!
The Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Bend is one of the organizations that will be participating in the event, and is name many recognize for doing great things for our community's youth.
The nonprofit's mission to provide kids with mentorship and enrichment.
They primarily do this through teaching kids sports, but have recently begun offering early childhood education programs, teen outreach, and even launching programs suggested by the kids, like podcasting!
"It's all about giving access to individuals in the community that don't have the resources to partake in those activities an opportunity to do so," CEO Kim Barrientos said. "And when they're able to do so, you see them get more self confidence, and they learn faster, and they stay really engaged, and they stay out of trouble, and that's part of the thing that we're looking to do here."
She said just $10 is enough to feed kids in their program for a week.
You can learn more about them here.
