CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Your bill may be a little higher the next time you bring your pet to P.A.A.C. for a visit.
Officials with People Assisting Animal Care (P.A.A.C.) say after years of efforts to give our community the lowest prices possible, they're having to work with rising costs instead of against them.
The decision is something that weighs heavily on the heart of the founder and president of the nonprofit, Cheryl Martinez who is expecting an increase of around $5 to 10 on services like vaccines, products and some of the testing they do there at the center.
"Many items that we had been purchasing, we are charging less than what we've been paying," Martinez said. "We are just not fortunate enough to have the money to be able to continue at those prices and we had to make some changes."
She assures that they're doing everything they can, adding that it has always been important to the organization to keep prices down for the community.
