CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — After receiving a 5-4 vote by city council on Tuesday, City Manager Peter Zanoni's year-long contract will be renewed.
Zanoni spoke with 3NEWS ahead of the renewal, reassuring that he was here to stay; the rest was in council's hands after giving input during the evaluation process.
"We talked about what am I doing well, where can I improve in the operations of the city," He said. "Our goal is to improve this city, city of Corpus Christi, make it the best place to live and raise a family and work."
Zanoni was given a five percent market raise and an additional five percent for his performance. This will bring his pay to just over $400,000 a year.
