CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Nueces County Animal Services is partnering with the Nueces County Veterans Services office to create a pet adoption program for veterans.
The program started as a way to simply say ‘Thank you’ to our veterans.
Nueces County Animal Services manager Kendall Bradley said overpopulation is an issue in the shelter, and the partnership allows them to help their animals find homes, while also showing appreciation for our service members.
"This is going to be an ongoing program,” she said. “So, as long as we have the partnership and the ability to provide this program, we're going to keep doing it."
People Assisting Animal Control, also known as PAAC, is also on-board, offering spay, neuter, vaccination and flea and tick services to veterans who participate.
