CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — First Edition meteorologist Carly Smith was hard at work during our nightside newscast shift covering Monday's stormy weather. As the saying goes, every storm in life is followed by a rainbow.
Our 3NEWS viewers sent Carly a plethora of clearing skies as the rain subsided, and as a thank you, and an antidote to any clouds you may have in your coffee this morning, we are showcasing a collection of #RAINBOWALERTS for you to revisit as you like!
John-Thomas Kobos took this on the Southside!
This electrifying snapshot was taken by Jelena McDonnell and sent in by Tracey Torres from this week's storm.
Jonathan Zaludek captured this from over on Padre Island.
Gabriella Olvera caught this angle, where one of our area's double rainbow's is showing off some of its colors.
Bumpy Mammatus clouds - which tend to follow strong thunderstorms at the top of the cumulonimbus cloud known as an anvil- appeared in our Coastal Bend skies as the sun was setting.
Brandi Whitehurst posted these pretty clouds Monday afternoon.
Tommy Villareal posted this picture in response to Carly's cloud coverage Monday evening.
Becky Absher caught this what looks almost like a double rainbow with some lightning in a particularly well-timed shot!
Becky also caught this sweet picture of the rainbow from over on the Island.
Our very own Lexis Greene was able to catch the sky putting in work after Monday night's rain.
As Lexis pointed out, we might not have got the Northern Lights, but we will happily take this!
